Hi.
I wouldn't really call my self a pro-touring guy. But, it seems like a lot of the parts I want have "pro-touring tendancies." :) I'm going with the old school look with updated running gear.
I've got a fairly nice but very, very stock 1955 chevy belair. It's had a nice frame on restoration. The paperwork shows 63,000 original miles, as does the speedo... but I have my doubts. It's still rocking the 235 inline six- that is soon to change.
I've got a ZZ4 motor still sitting on the crate. I am in the process of getting the small parts for that. I've got my eye on the Edelbrock air gap 2X4 set up. The Sanderson fenderwell headers were ordered last week. I've got an MSD vac-advance distributor but I still need to get my hands on a digital 6 plus to run it. I might go with a Carter fuel pump because it's got more of an old school look. I'd like 400 horses under the hood so I might step up and install a LT4 Hot Cam and 1.6 roller rockers. That should put my 3400 pound car into the high 12's with the right rear end.
Then... for the trans I plan to go with the Tremec TKO 600.
I'm going to be going old school with the wheels. The fronts are going to stay the stock 15X5's. The backs are 15X7 steel wheels from a caprice/bonnie/buick. All the wheels will be painted matching red with some sort of a little dog dish hubcap. I'm painting the wheels right now. If I would have known that the used wheels would have such bad hubcap scratches in the rims I would have spent the extra $ and got new ones! :)
