Are these tires any good.I read that they are a suv tire but basically look like a car tire.I can get a really good deal on 295/45/18s and 255/45/18s and was wondering if they would be good for my car (71 gto)

They were kind of a fad around here for the true radial drag racers. I had a set on an old truck never got them to hook that great, but in my opinion they were good tires and they have a cool tread pattern.

I had a set on my Silverado SS and really liked them, especially the tread pattern. Also bought my dad a set for his ML430. Don't know that I'd consider them for one of my cars, though.

They're good tires IMO, but a bit on the heavy side at 30 and 39 pounds respectively. The sizes you mentioned are V-speed rated to 149 mph and have a reinforced carcass for the additional weight of an SUV which can make them a little less compliant on a lighter vehicle. Definitely cool looking though.

While we are talking about Toyo what are thoughts toward the Proxes TR1? Will be on a street with no track time.
