I recently saw a post that showed a car with plastic wheels on it. These wheels are for temporary use for moving your project car around the shop or driveway. Has anyone seen them before or know of a supplier for them. An extensive internet search turned up nothing. Any ideas?

I saw them at a street rod shop, but I can't remember who it was.
It was a big name builder of street rods. They were cool but a couple of hundred bucks. Plastic with steel inserts for the lug nuts.
A few builders have made plywood wheels to move around street rods, but I don't know how they would hold up with a muscle car.

I'll post up as soon as my brain flashes.

yeah I heard they were exspensive. Go down to your local wrecking yard and get a set of temporary spares. Cost yo $80 at least. Or keep your eyes out on craigslist. I've seen some pro street skinnys for cheap too.

FYI the GTO spares will fit cars equipt with C5 brakes.

Those sort of look like electrical wire spool ends. When I did residential electrical work, right after high school, we used 1000' plastic spools that had cardboard centers. I remember because we used to tear them a part and throw them like frisbees (sp?). The loser would buy the beer. I don't know if they're still used but it's an idea.

Thank you for all of the replies and ideas.

I originally saw the car pictured above in the "For Sale" area of this site. A poster that was replying to that thread gave a link where the plastic wheels can be purchased:

Kugel Komponents has them plus some other cool stuff

Thank you to vp23271 for providing the link.

Regarding just buying some inexpensive spares from the wrecking yard, it might be hard to find what I need. I'm converting my hubs to 5x5 pattern grand national style hubs with 5/8 studs. It might be hard to find large diameter spares that will clear big brakes too. We'll see, time to do more research...

Thanks,
Matt

If for some reason they are out of stock, give Classic Performance a call. I was there last Sat and they had a set for sale in their showroom.
