while its not exactly a "Pro-touring" car, im not looking to go in just a straight line. i actually started this last january after i sold my malibu as a roller. i picked the car up for $500, all original one-owner and very clean. had an inline 6/4speed stick. sold the drivetrain for $450 on ebay so i now own the car for $50 :D

started off with an AJE tubular Kmember and lower control arms, quick ratio flaming river rack, upgraded the front brakes to the larger V8 car calipers and rotors and UPR coil-overs. rear suspension is all UPR control arms and eibach springs . engine is a stock LS1 out of a wrecked 2002 WS6 trans am with a 4l60e. i sent the car out to have a 6pt bar put in, subframe connectors and trans crossmember. then i had many discussions with KOOKS custom headers and they took the car and made a prototype set of longtube 1 3/4 headers(which are now in production). i modified the factory ls1 harness, modified the dash for the gauges, relocated the battery to the trunk, and a bunch of other small stuff.

heres all the project pictures:

Man that car looks like it was in great shape! How many miles did it have on it? Mustangs fly when you put a GM power plant in there!

75,000 miles when i got it, i actually drove it around for a couple weeks before i pulled it apart.

wow, thats amazing.... You gonna leave it like that on the exterior? What are some of the plans for it?

see how fast it goes with the bone stock drivetrain, once i blow a 4l60 or 2 switch to a 6speed. i doubt ill ever get it painted so im sure thats the way its gonna stay.

Thats awesome! It will make a great sleeper/track car. See if you can get the stock wheels widened.... that would be awsome.

Love it.

My parents had a new mustang in 79. Wish they had kept it.

unfortunately they dont fit over the brakes.

in a perfect world i'd like to put a cobra IRS in eventually and put the A/C back in for when i move south. then maybe get it painted.

Just watched the video. It strangly sounds like a pushrod mustang.
