Guys this is my first post on PT, I am looking to start my very first project a '69 Nova. I want to mini tub the car and put on wider wheels and tires. I would like to use an 18" wheel with 315 or 335 series tire. I have not seen this width of a tire on any of the protouring 68 - 72 Novas that I have seen. Is there enough space to fit these under the car once it has been mini tubbed? Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure what size wheel & tire they will be running but check out this thread;

I am doing a 70 Nova now with a Fesler FS 905 19X12 with a 345/30ZR19 tire. To fit this onto the car we had to cut the stock frame rail out and build new ones and move them over with a new tub we built. I will post some pictures of it tomorrow as it looks so sick with that large wheel in the rear.

How far in did you have to move the rear frame rails to get the new tubs to fit? What type of rear suspension is under your Nova? I can't wait to see your pictures. I looked at your website your wheels are AWESOME looking. I really like the 904's & 905's!!

like Chris said, you are gonna have to move the frame rails if you want to mini tub it and run wheels that big...I am planning on running a set of 335's on my nova, there was an article about getting wider wheels in the latest PHR, I would look at that, it is pretty interesting, they did not have to alter the frame rails, but granted they also were not running 315's or 335's... any ways Welcome to the site! great to see some more nova guys here, I am convinced they are the next "big" thing for hot rodding...oh yes... lol

I love the exhaust coming out through the body on the car. I had a very similar idea for my project. A buddy of my has something like yours on a '71 Camaro.
