If I was to use the DSE deep tubs in 68 Nova, will they fit without notching the frame rails? I have new wheel houses, but if it will save me the time of cutting and adding in a strip, I would be better off going with the DSE. Thanks.

Yes, you could but it would not be cost effective not to. What sized tires are you shooting for?

I will be running 285-35-18's. When I mocked them up, they were rubbing along the front of the wheel well. I guess the ultimate test will be when I pick up my Moser M9 housing and see where they fit.

That should work stock....but on what sized rim? A 9" wide works fine.

IDK I have heard a lot of Nova guys complain about wheel clearance, I guess It depends on offset and the width of your axle housing.

I know a 275 tire will fit stock.
Why go through the trouble and expense of mini tubbing and not put a wide tire/wheel under it?

I'm running a 10" wide rim with a 5.25" offset. When I did the mock up, they would rub at the front of the wheel house. I was told they would fit without any mods. Oh well....I already have the wheelhouses, I'll just add in a strip to them and then if I want to go wider...I'll have that option. Thanks for all the input guys.

yeah you gonna need a mini tub for a 10". But you should be fine without the frame cut. Just cut parallel with the frame it will just gain you 1 - 1 1/4". You have the DSE tubs or DYI?
Your spring should be fine in its stock location with that BS.
But im going to have to say, that if you are going to go through the work why not go all the way. The frame cut isn't even that bad.
Like you said its nice to have the option to wider later.
Did you get your parts ok?

I got the parts okay. Thanks again for that. I was going to send you a message letting you know, just haven't gotten around to it.
I just bought new stock inner and outer wheelhouses and was going to weld in a strip to make them wider. I'm not running leafs anymore, so not worried about that. I'm waiting to go and pick up my g-bar set up. I think for the time it would take me to notch the frame, it would probably be about the same amout of time that it would take me to widen the tubs I have. Plus, I don't have to spend anymore money as I already have the wheelhouses. I don't know how much of a wider tire I would go anyways.

From my experience in doing this on my '72 Nova, the widening of the tubs was more of a pain in the @ss than modifying the frame. If you're there doing this work, just do the frame while you're at it. You'll thank yourself in the longrun.

Cool, good to hear it. Let me know if you need help with anything.
You know anything over 315 is worthless.
And where did you find inners?????
K5 quoted for truth!!!

So if I was to get the DSE tubs...do they also sell the frame mod kits or is that just a matter of getting some metal? Is there anyone else who sells the inners for cheaper than DSE. The inners I have are from Goodmark.
