I'm putting new rear disk brakes on my '68 Chevelle. It has a 10 bolt posi. I tried to leave the shaft in, but slide it out of the way enough to remove the C-clips, but it slid out. I have the axles and C-clips back in, but can't get the shaft through the case, it only goes in about 1/2". I don't want to force anything. I'm trying to GENTLY pry the outside of the posi unit to get the inside portion to line up (it's only "off" by about .030" but since the shaft is such a snug fit it justwon't go). Can anyone tell me how to resolve this ?
THANKS!

Never mind. I had it lined SO close for about 50 tries, but it wouldn't go. On #51 it went in. I still don't understand it but it worked.
Thanks.

Some times its like that when you do't have the spider gears lined up exactly. You ever notice it always goes on the last try? LOL
