I'm gathering up parts to bag my daily driver Roadmaster Wagon. Shockwaves are way too expensive and if I relocate the shocks the traditional way the tires will rub a lot sooner than they already do. This car can't afford a much wider turning radius. Running without shocks is obviously out of the question. Regular bags go for about 80 each, shocks for 50 each, brackets for bags about 50 and shock relocater brackets about 35. That come to $345 or these bolt on after a little trimming of the frame. What do you guys think?

well the air rides ahocks are adjustable---BIG + and i believe they have more travel (6in?) 3in ain't much. airride also has the pressure/height sensing system. plus you can get airrides that you know are correct for your car.
just my 2 cents

There are a lot of good products on the market and as much as you dont want to hear it you do get what you pay for. Air Ride Technologies has figured out the correct way to make these and they work, we install them on 90% of our cars the others get coil overs. I have been using the Shock wave from day one and have had one break in all the years and they overnighted me a new one to fix it. NO QUESTIONS ASKED and they paid the shipping, you cant beat a company like that.

The company you are looking at here is Chassis Tech out in Mesa, AZ and they make a ton of parts but do not do the research that other companies do to make sure they work. If you buy a set and they fail you will be in them for what you could have done the Air Ride ones for.

Just something for you to think about, its always hard to pay more for parts but when they work its worth every penny.

The double convoluted shockwaves range from 2.6 to 4 inches of travel. On an IFS wheel travel will be 1.5 to 2 times the shock travel. I know airride makes great stuff but I'm not sure its twice as good. To me a lot of the things they sell seem to have a huuuuge markup. Adjustability does not really concern me much since this car never really needs to be able to handle well.

Has anyone actually seen a pair of the Chassis Tech knock-offs or would I be the guinea pig? I am very familiar with the fact that you get what you pay for but at this point it might be these or no bags at all. I'm a full time student with full time expenses so I'm scraping together lunch money to get this done.

I have seen a lot of "Air Ride" knock offs and I can tell you SAVE YOUR CASH. Buy the original not a copy of something slapped together.
bret makes the best part out thier and the service is second to NONE.That one company that has some sort of offer if you can get them info to try and but Bretts patent than you get some cash, took 7 sets off and the shocks wer epure junk, 2 didnt even have seals in them.
Save for the goos stuff and besides figure if its half the price ,,,what are you getting?
I have had my CoolRide on for over 3 1/2 yrs and never had any type of failure that was due to design,, just me being in too big of a hurry and still I have managed to stay up and driveable everytime my boo boo made me trash something.

Those are Chassis Tech, also know as AIM industries, ricky racer, etc. Why so many names? Their mechanical and electrical products are garbage. They started out building parts for mini trucks and expanded.
