Can american cars only be build in the pro touring style?

I would say no, since pro-touring is really a copy of the european build style and mentality. While traditional american sport/muscles cars like the Camaro, Mustang, Buick GN, and others were more or less designed to just go fast in a straight line, the european style places equal emphasis on acceleration, braking, handling, comfort, and efficiency. Isn't that what we're all trying to duplicate?
