Hi Guys,

I'll be spraying dp90 pretty soon and need to get a paintgun.

I plan to run the dp90 for at least a year, so I would like a gun that can lay the paint pretty nice.

I would like to use HVLP if at all possible.

1 - I have heard that Astro Pnuematic makes a pretty good gun for spraying primer
2 - What size tip should I be running?

My brother's primer gun is a SATA KLC with a 1.7tip.

He uses a SATA 3000 with a 1.3tip for base and clear

You definitely don't want a tip smaller than 1.7.

look for a 1.5, any cheap gun set up properly will lay the dp90 down nice. but keep the tip a 1.5 no bigger

I just copied what I put on another forum, anyway I know you want hvlp if possible, but this setup works pretty good.

I use the old binks #7 type siphon gun with a 36sd air nozzle, and a fluid ( medium ) nozzle # 36.

This will spray filler and ppg dp 90 epoxy really good. Its a pretty good sized nozzle, also if your spraying hard to get at areas, the siphon lets you get in closer, because you don't have the cup on top. Any really hard to reach areas, you can spray through the cardboard out of a roll of paper towels.

You might be able to find a used #7 someplace.

I don't think you would have a problem at all letting the filler set a month or two, your goung to sand it anyway, just keep any silicone spray or wd-40 out of the garage, and car wax or car waxing in the area, that will give you a problem.

Heres some z chrome sprayable filler that was sanded, then dp epoxy sprayed over it, this is the way it came out of the gun, I haven't touched it. http://www.1969supersport.com/047.html (http://www.1969supersport.com/047.html)
