Man your stang is awsome. Best pro-tour stang I could think of.

Im sure you get this question all the time, but can you give me any advice on trying the teminator swap into an older car? I'm doing a 63 Galaxie;same running gear as you.(stang 2 clip, 03 motor tranny and trying the IRS) Anything on wiring, fit, motor, trany, mounts: anything you wish you had done differently? Anything I'm all ears. Thank you for your time and efforts and any response you may send. Please respond!!!!!!!!!

Thank you,
Cody

Cody,

Sounds like a great project you have there. I really like the 62 to 64 Galaxie and with the 03 cobra drive train it will be one of a kind.

As for my project I really did not run into too many issues or things I would have done different. The only thing that bugs me about the swap is that the alt on the 03 cobra motor sits down low on the drivers side of the engine which limits the amount set back. This is due to clearance issues with the upper control arm on the mustang II front end kit. Not a big deal but I would have moved it back another 3 inches if I could. I do recommend you pick up the complete mustang wiring manual from Ford as it was very helpful to me in modifying the wiring harness to get it running again. Also I purchased a Tweecer programmer to disable the Pats which is mandatory unless you use the cobra steering column and keep the Pats system intact. The rest is mostly standard swap stuff like custom motor and trans mounts, swapping in the 03 cobra brake and clutch pedal assembly etc.
I am in the final body prep stage on my build so I will be creating a project thread soon that will have more details. If you have any questions during your build just shoot me a PM and I will do my best to help you out.

Good Luck,

Young Gun

yes I am a noob on this board. :moon: I mostly have been working on GM S-10 V8 swaps and 73-2004 full size Chevy trucks. As seen here

So I am not new to doing cool stuff to cool cars. I was deffentally thinking of doing a custom Billet Specialities or March pully system or having Metco do a custom pulley arrangment for the car and relocating the alt. up high like in most cars. My old roommate had a cammed 03 cobra made 485 rwhp 480 rwtrq with just those cams and a Metco pulley kit, Stock eaton, h-pipe, and manifolds. Obvesiously I will have full exhaust and more room to work. I also do not have to do the stang 2 clip simplly because the Galaixe is a frame car and not a uni-body. Here a few pics of the car I am most likely to buy and work on. It isnt much but it is straight and is less than 1K to buy.
