Silly hypothetical:
Your car is going to be featured in a magazine. Which one would mean the most to you?
Marque specific mastheads omitted.

for me its PHR, I subscribe to Hot Rod and Super Chevy as well as PHR, but I just like the articles in PHR more, I like the layout of the magazine and the cars they choose, dont get me wrong Super Chevy has some great cars as well, so I think it would be a close second, but Hot Rod wont be getting a renewal from me, I prefer reading about Project G/28 and the body work, not the new challenger I can read about anyplace on the interweb... Just my opinion

My faves on your list are PHR & Hot Rod but, I choose Hot Rod because I've been reading Hot Rod since I was a kid reading my dad’s HR mags.
Honestly, I'd be honored to be featured in any of them.

I like PHR best and not just because Steve hangs here but because I think the articles/pics are most in-line with my interests. But I have to say it would be cool to be in HR just from a nostalgic perspective.

i think PHR features the nicest cars, and were mine to be considered for that mag, it'd put me in some pretty elite company.

...because it's the original and everyone knows about Hot Rod magazine.
That being said,it is quite an honor to be featured in any national publication.

PHR- would be an honor to be in that mag at any level. I also like Car Craft's motto: "Real, Loud, Fast" which fits my rig as well. Hot Rod has lost its lustre IMO.

I'd say that PHR is the one that I look forward to the most each month. I also get Street Rodder, Hot Rod and Classic Truck.
Getting into any of them would be fantastic ... but I probably identify with PHR the most.

My Firebird has been a cover car and featured in PHR and had a couple very nice 2 page pics in HOT ROD. That by itself is more than I'd have ever thought possible for a garage built car I painted in my dirt driveway! HOT ROD was the first magazine I bought when I was a 10 Y/O kid. PHR is the magazine I've always got (even through those weird times) and identify with the most over the years.
Since the context is "your car is going to be featured in a magazine" the one I'd like to see it featured in would be Grassroots Motorsports. I bought it on the news stands. Then after joining NASA recieved my yearly subscriptions as a part of membership. It's a good mag and more about cars that are driven on tracks. Hopefully I'll get to a few more events this year with NASA and just maybe I'll be "spotted".

SCCA's mag, Sports Car's, FastTrack is the rules and regulations, plus the protests, section ... I hope my car isn't featured in that part of the magazine.

I'd be happy with any feature of course but to be specific to the above list...I would have to say PHR first and CC second. PHR just seems to be more in line with my interests I suppose. The articles are great as well as the DIY tips and they really emphasize the latest and greatest in the PT scene.

PHR first, Super chevy second. Carcraft or CHP third, I can't decide.
Mostly it's about the photographer. PHR has the best photography. My car needs all the help it can get! lol.

PHR for me. But as Steve said I'm in there all the time. But I have always been a fan, and Johnny is great to work with.

PHR would mean the most to me.... it just fits with my car and my interests. Its "the" magazine when it comes to the PT world in my opinion. The others are great too.
But...my enthusiasm for Super Chevy is gonna go up real soon :)

Well, at the risk off cutting off my pee pee, I have to be honest and say from a business stand point, Hot Rod. I am fairly sure Hot Rod has more circulation then all the others combined, so it only makes sense for maximum exposure. Now if you asked my favorites to read, PHR has the coolest cars of all makes and absolutly the best pictures and picture standards. And PHR absolutly has the best writer in the entire universe (Kissing ass always is good). Super Chevy is a close second in reading, and also in feature value, again because of killer circulation. Again, totally business decisions. I love my Chevy's, and Super Chevy does do great features, great cars, and there are a couple real cool guys over there also.

As others have said, it would be an honour to be featured in any of these mags, but it is Car Craft that seems to speak loudest to me. Maybe it was the hose clamp tranny mount, or Real Street Eliminator, or maybe it's because their crap starts out looking as good as mine does when I'm done with it. They just seem to have a Joe Dirt quality that was prevalent among my friends and I so many years ago.
I've read both Car Craft and Hod Rod since the early '70s and have enjoyed both (except for the vans crap), but Car Craft has always had a bit of an edge when it comes to preference.

In no real order I'd like my car on the cover of Grassroots Motorsports, PHR or Hot Rod(but any mag would be cool no matter what). I'd defintly want some good action shots of my car.

The old magazines were cobbled together from various Primedia magazine features, but that isn't the case now. I'd say the last year or so it has been independent.
I just shot a feature on a nice 68 over the weekend for Camaro Performers. Typically I only write for GM High Tech. I tried to get into PHR, but since Steve was my reference they told me hell no.

PHR may be my fav to read, but HRM has more exposure. So to say I got the cover of HRM transcends to more people than PHR.
Sorry Steve.

Regarding actual circulation numbers, here's the inside scoop:
http://abcas3.accessabc.com/ecirc/magform.asp
Do an "SRDS Search" using the "AUTOMOTIVE" heading.
You'll see circulation averages for the last 6 months, ending Dec. 31. These are third-party research numbers, so they're pretty real.
(Don't forget to peek at Street Thunder...!!)
