Hi all,

The 396 in my 71 camaro is dead. I've been tinkering with it with a buddy of mine for a few nights now, and have decided to let it go and buy a new motor. I'd like to get a 454, hopefully not spend more than $3000 for it. I know that speedomotive sells some, and PAW sells a kit for under that. Is there anywhere (preferably in So-Cal) that you guys can recomend I look at? Thanks a bunch!

Look into Stroker Engine, he (John) built a quality 383 for a buddy of mine and it runs great and he was very competive priced. Stoker Engine is in So Cal his phone number is: 760-247-0690.

Here's his web site: http://www.strokerengine.com/strokerengines.html

Hope it helps you out.

Thanks for the tip CCH! I actually wound up ordering a 454 short block (overbored to 468) from PAW today, I'm going to use my current heads, got a new carb and intake comming too. Can't wait! Hopefully I'm gonna get north of 500hp when everything's all said and done.
