Beutiful car! Seems one could build it (maybe 2) for a lot less.

Did Unique change their company name and move into Oklahoma from Texas?

Good question, funny how Unique gets busted then a new company shows up with the same car???? hmmmmmm

At least they got the hood and wheels right this time.

Or, maybe someone capitalizing on the fact that Unique is in trouble and assuming Unique will prob not pursue the issue with them "continuing" the car.

I just crawled out from under my rock! What happened with Unique?

To sum it up ripping people off almost to the point of it being a scam...

Well, at the bottom of the poster it says they are licensed by Denice to build this. She is the director's wife that did the first gone in 60 movie. She is also the one that filed suit against Unique and Shelby and maybe Disney as well because they tried to go around her. Actually, they tried to strong arm her out of the way and not get proper licensing for building these cars.

If this is legit, I hope it gets done correctly and people do not get ripped off.

Yeah its Halicki ,she did get the short end of the stick but I think they have missed the boat on these.

They appear to be "movie accurate"

No GT500E script on the side.
No Unique performance rearend setup.
Correct Foose hood.
Correct PSE wheels.
Correct Tires

Good for them. It always bugged me that the Unique cars had these things wrong with them. Especially the hood.

hopefully we will hear only good things about these guys and the product...I have always loved those cars and it was a real dissapointement to hear how Unique really screwed them up...

It's not really my style, but it looks like they're using a fair amount of the right goodies.

Still though, for $140k on a classic musclecar, you should be getting a 1 of 1, not 1 of a "limited edition".

I have a 67 fastback and I hate to say it but there is no way in hell that I will be doing an Eleanor. Don't get me wrong it is a nice car but damn cam we beat a dead horse anymore. I am glad that they used this car as the movie car because it make mine worth more but come on the actual movie car goodies were not all that special to begin with. I know it was pretty much one of the first protouring style cars to go main stream but to pay that much for a movie correct car just isn't going to happen considering I could build one with a lot more fun stuff packed into it for that price. OK I am done.

The Eleanor thing is completely played out, but the court fight still continues, as per today's L.A. Times.

Denice Halicki vs. Carroll Shelby and Unique Performance.

As usual, it looks like the only winners here will be the lawyers. With the meter running at a couple hundred bucks plus an hour, they'll be more than happy to continue the fight over naming rights for a reproduction car with an extremely limited market as long as the parties will pay.

You'd think Shelby and Halicki would see the marketing power of doing a joint venture rather than fighting it out in litigation, as Halicki's got the more sympathetic claim, and what appears to be a worthwhile company building the cars, and Shelby's got his name and reputation, which, despite the whole Unque Performance / Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation scandals, is still worth a lot.

To folks like us- absolutely.
But to 99.2% of the rest of the population, not at all. You park one of these next to any other car on this site and you watch the crowd ooh and ahh about the car from the movie... Only a "General Lee" has more non-aficionado mass appeal.
