I Loved the Extreme Lee updates ... they updated the Flag graphic, numbers and wheels... tastefully done.
... they made the car "politically correct"
WHAT!?!?.... are you telling me they removed the Dixie Flag!!! What did they replace it with? A pink triangle?

They deleted the flag (just a blank roof).. they WILL NOT call it the General Lee.. It will NOT play the horn toon (dixie)..
I heard it will run a rainbow sticker on the bumper though.. ;)

Your kidding me right???
Sounds already like the new movie will be "The Pukes of Hazzard"
Jessica is hot, I think she needs to be brunette to play the role???

No azz?? Looks good coming and going to me....No azz is right. Not enough junk in her trunk. Needs to be cheak-ier, like a dancer's or runner's muscular rump. Perhaps some implants...
As for the General Lee not being the General Lee... and for Jesica not going brunette for the role of Daisy... Well you may as well call Boss Hog "Boss Slight Weight Management Problem" and of course Cooter would be called "Hoo Hoo" instead. Insane!

From what I heard they did keep the flags on the cars for the movie.
They (southern people) tried to get them to remove the confederate flag but the directors of the movie said no that they were in the original show and it was staying for the movie.
Here are some pics taken from the set of the movie.

Hmmm... so what story is true?? I sure hope your info is correct because Dukes of Hazzard without the General Lee would be like Lassie without the dog ;)

hehehehe smilies rule.
There's a smiles rule? I've read the forum rules a few times, but I don't remember a specific smiles rule. That said, I'll admit that is a bit excessive... my apologies. I'll go edit the smiles out...

You guys that like fatasses are in luck, cause there are plenty of them, and 90% of them will only get bigger with age, so you should get happier everyday! Funny how times change.

Some points to ponder:
#1 Jessica Simpson is no Catherine Bach!
#2 There was no General Lee or any Charger that I can recall in the original movie about the Duke family, which was called "Moonrunners". I'd like to get a copy of that on DVD.
#3 I hope that they find some good homes for those Chargers used in the remake.

Thats all we need is for them to go taking out a few more Charger. It's not like to price on the one left are high enough right now. :crying:

interesting. i never knew that the show was based off a movie. i do know it was filmed in and around madison georgia, which is like 45 minutes from me now and only 15 when im at work.
yes, i thought the smilies were funny. no theres no rule about excessive usage

I saw that movie in the early '90s on the Learning channel of all places. It was actually pretty good, and I'm surprised that the TV show was so much more a comedy and the film was much more a drama. I'd like to see it on DVD too...

Wow.... You guys are brutal. I'd love to hook up with Jessica Simpson. So she looks a little thin. So what. I'd say what it's all about, but I doubt you guys would get it. Hell, I should delete this thread just because of that...
On that note, I missed that show. It's alright. I still love the General, and that car will never be able to be changed. I know that John Schneider has one of the cars, and he's ugraded the hell out of it. Not all of them are in the wrong hands.

But back to the Extreme Lee.................it's really not very extreme. Pretty much "stock" suspension, small brakes, A/T. Shouldn't have had one of those tubular K members that's available now? Coil overs? Big brakes? Painted the wheels apropiatly and actually installed the roll bar(it wasn't in the car when they were showing it finished). Guess someones gonna have to do it again but do it right.

Daniel,
I was thinking the same thing the whole time. Absolutely nothing special about the car except for the appearance (wheels & paint) and the powerplant and the gear vendors unit.
Definitely a cool car, just not very extreme. If Mr. Sheppard intends to drive the thing like he said on the show, you think he would have turned his attention to the rest of the car as well.

I was beginning to wonder when this thread would turn back to the car. I agree, it was nothing special. They should have painted the wheels to better match the originals and the rendering. Suspension wise I don't think they did much but put Baer brakes on it. I would have like to see it more "XTREME".

I also wish that there was more quiet time for listening to the car as it drove past. Yeah, I finally saw the episode tonight. Nice car, saw it at SEMA. I didn't realize it was his. Stupid me. Anyway, It's a cool car. To live up to the name, suspension mods would be cool, but twin turbos would have been better. It would at least live up to it's name better.

There's a guy on Team Chevelle that owns THE original General Lee #1, the actual car.
it was found in a boneyard in GA, and is far beyond repair. It's also blue, although bits of the orange can still be seen underneath. Nevertheless it's the real thing, the car that did the jump during the intro to the show. Apparently that jump ruined it, and it was junked after that one scene.

I've read about that car in one of those Mopar rags..........to bad the car is that far gone.
........and Mike, had they put Bear brake on it that would have been ok, but they put on some lame SSBC stuff :drive2: .

Yeah, it was parked in a junkyard after the show was done with it, and it sat there rusting away until a year or two ago.

Personally the whole episode was a BIG let down to me...... I wish the car would have been either more rough and tough old scholl muscle car or a full-tilt ProTourer.
Kenny Wayne Shepard also lost a whole bunch of cool notches in my book by the time the hour was up.
Don't get me wrong the car was NICE, but it didn't do much for me... :guilty:

I will second that Frank.Show me a 35year old that still has a figure and I am a happy camper. I remember having a bumper sticker that read "No fat chicks-car will scrape."
