Anyone ever remove the post from a 66 chevelle? If so, was it pretty straight forward? Will It look like it came from the factory that way in the end? Any pics? Got a good deal on a 66 post chevelle today, but I really like the no post look and was wondering if it was worth the effort? Thanks

Not a chance unless you don't mind the windows and doors never sealing again. Closely examine the post, window surround and door frame which will all be giant gaps when removed. Embrace the uniqueness of your bodystyle or sell it and hold out for a hardtop but don't ruin it.

If you don't think post cars have potential, go to http://www.popularhotrodding.com/features/0707phr_1966_chevy_biscayne/index.html and check out www.Chicayne.com (http://www.Chicayne.com) . Then there's Roy Pigford's Chevy II post that won Goodguys' Street Machine of the Year in 2005 and you have three of the baddest street machines of all time and they're all post cars.

Even if you could remove the post (previous responder right about why you can't) I don't think you'd get the look you're after. The post cars have a different roofline than the coupes do.

JayR, thanks for the response. I'll enjoy what I've got.
