Coys Wheels

Anyone have any experience with Coy Wheels? Quality, price, customer service?

quality is very good. Price is very good. I don't know about the customer service though. Tim at PRRC used to sell their products, but stopped after numerous problems involving them getting orders filled fast enough. They, (Coy's) has said this has been resolved.



Aside from that, I see them all the time now. People rave about my wheels, (they're the C5s) they look much deeper than they are, and much deeper than a comparable TTII wheel. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

I have them on my 56'. Easy phone order. No issues with the wheels..I've had them for 1 1/2 yrs, helpful with the intial order AND when I called back a year later to ask for new center embles...I lost the first set. Sent them free of charge :cool:

I've got the C5 gunmetals on my 81Z. Good quality, great price and the customer service was great for me.

I've had problems with them too, but have had great success with these as an alternative from the FOOSE camp. It's called the FOOSE LEGEND. Comes in the perfect sizes for most muscle cars, 7, 8, 9 inch wide.

Thanks for the reply guys. I was browsing the Super Chevy Mag last night and I saw the Coy's Wheels advertizement. Coy's price for 18" wheels were in the price range of $250-350 a wheel.

Does the legend have a painted center option?

Im still looking for a set for my brothers Corvair...

My painter will paint a set for you, any color you want for 75 bucks a center. Problem is there is no difinitive seperating line between the spokes and the rim edge, so there will be a noticeable tape line.

Backspacing options on Coys kinda stinks.

From what I undertand from other members/friends is that they make great wheels but take FOREVER to ship or to answer emails, calls anything. Horrible customer service, its so bad that many places wont sell for them anymore. I guess if you dont mind the wait, go for it.

I still want some though. lol

I was going to get the Coys C-5 for my '71 bird, $1100 shipped to my door. Great deal on a great looking set of wheels! But then I found the Foose Legend (same as pic above) on rimzoneonline.com for $289 each, $1156 set with free deliver. I'm going the Foose route. I like the backspacing options and the deeper bowl/lip. The coys have a great lip, but it has a bump in the center. The Foose Legends are one continues bowl front to back. Very deep looking!

Also, in regards to customer service. I've talked to Coys on the phone a few times and they seemed fine. But a friend of mine bought some C-55 chrome wheels for his '67 Mustang and when he got them the wheels had been drilled/modified for the ford bolt pattern from the GM pattern (4.5 from 4.75). It would have been OK, but they drilled them AFTER they were chromed! The chrome is now flaking off and he is trying to get them to replace them. They say they will replace them, but it's been since last September, and still no replacement wheels.
