MATCHSTICK MCLAREN F1

Michael Arndt is more than just an artisan, he's literally a man with many matchsticks. Over the last six years he has gone through a collection of 956,000 matchsticks, 1686 tubes of glue, and at least three different varieties of mustache and built a full-scale replica of a McLaren 4/14 F1 car, at a cost of around 6000 Euros. The giant model takes up Arndt's entire kitchen and probably his social life. It can be broken down into 45 parts for easy transport to various matchstick-builders conventions.

Who do you guys think is more respectable, this guy, or some guy who spends similar amounts of effort building model railroads?

^Has to be, most wives hate a real car build in the garage the first two months yet alone a full size match stick model in the kitchen and living room for 6 years!

I cant fault the guy, i have a few car models that I spent LOTS of time on and the time we spend on our real cars is foolish to most outsiders.

I would rather shoot my balls with a nail gun than even entertain the idea of considering doing that.

Heh... She's the reason he built the car. Not taking care of his needs, he gets frustrated, tired of himself, and you know what they say about idle hands....

$6000 euros? That's almost what, $11000? I would rather buy a car that actually takes me places than build one out of something that's made to catch fire...

Like magnesium? (sorry, I couldn't help myself) I agree on the idle hands, this guy is no doubt talented, just imagine the money he could make if he build some nice custom matchstick hood hinges, or maybe a sweet matchstick flush gas cap (ok, jab #2, I can't help myself this morning!) hahahahaa LMAOROTF (Larry, it's all in good fun, I am patiently waiting too).

(i didn't get much sleep last night, can you tell?)
