Ummm... What way do the steering arms mount to the back of the ATS spindles??

Anyone have a picture?

I have the 78-88 G-Body ATS spindles with the black steering arms.

Help!

Here's a pic of the passenger side spindle on my 66 Chevelle looking from the front...

Okay, thank you - I'm NOT crazy.

I was finding it hard to get the LBJ nut on with the steering arm on there like that.

But I tried it another way and it didn't work, so that's about all that was left.

AGAIN, THANK YOU.

If you support the hub and pry the lower arm down to pull the threads out of the spindle a bit. Maybe 2-4 threads are showing. Then you can slowly start the nut on to the stud and feed it in as needed.

Or just instal the arm last.

Yeah, it's a lot easier to install the steering arm AFTER the ball joints are in place.

yelcamino: what's the backspacing on your rims? how do you like the AFX spindles?

I haven't driven the car so I don't have a performance opinion of the spindles yet, but they're a very well designed high quality part. If they work half as good as they look, I'll be very happy.

My wheels have a 5.2" backspace.
