Regulator before or after fuel injection unit

I am setting up a fuel injection system on my BB chev and should I mount the the regulator before or after the fuel injection unit.

What kind of system? I would put it in the return line.

I always run the regulator before the injector rail thts where you control the flow to the injectors,
