I have seen one of those 302 HEMI engines on Ebay before.
I think the "Buy it now" price was $85000 just for the engine!...if I remember it right.
3 or 4 of them made!

Well, for a one of one! Prolly not too awful bad of an investment for the stoopid rich car guy!
I thought I recalled either that car or one of the other semi-hemi engines being sold at Smokey's auction a few years back.

Yes it's the real deal it was local to me here until last spring. The owner sold it at a auction last mar? It wasn't mecum or barret-jackson can't recall the name started with a s if I remember correctly. It sold for right around $250,00. It was a smokey/GM experiment that was supposed to be scrapped when plans fell through somehow it made it. From what I understand there's 1 or 2 other engines left somewhere.

ouch!.........
anything with Smokey's name attached, brings HUGE dollars. But, I've read where even he said, that crossram was not a great performing intake at all!!

What is there about it that makes it a "Hemi"?? The plugs look like they go in the same spot as any other Chevy.

agreed,
it also says was a race car sure dont look like it to me...
"Also, included is an extensive certified engineering report documenting all the prototype pieces racing parts and racing history. Racing parts removed from the car are included in addition to these documents"
lol ok lets make it stock again?
the middle exhaust ports aren't siamesed or however you spell that word. Valve covers are six bolt maybe more and much larger than traditional SBC pieces.

SO..they put BBC heads on a SBC. Thats not really a "Hemi" but they called it so thats what it will be.

"Hemi" doesn't mean that the plug has to be in the center of the chamber. Hemi is the shape of the chamber.

How do you propose you put a BBC head on a SBC? Especially a small bore 302.

My mind blowing question is why the heck are the selling it on ebay? I doubt the individual that could afford that would be checking ebay for such a ride.
Seems like this would be better at Barrett Jackson with a little bit of advertising.

They were referred to by some as a "semi-hemi." As in not by definition a hemispherical cc.

I'm sure even guys with big budgets get on the internet. Ebay is as good of a place as any IMO.

That was the basic idea of what they did ,I did not mean it was an actual BB head just of BB design.
Interesting. I had heard of this engine and the experimental heads but nothing in depth. That's pretty cool.

If you're into Smokey Yunick.
Go to mapquest, type in the address of "Best Damn Garage in Town." And you can still see what's left of the shop.
957 North Beach St.
Daytona Beach, FL.
Go to Street View. Tons of construction going on around it, I'm sure it'll be gone soon. :( .
