Besides my 83 project elky i also have an 85 that needs wheels and tires bad!!! i offered a guy $500 for some wheels and tires off a 02 firebird WS6, will they fit? i think the bolt pattern is the same but i know the offset is way off. anyone fit 4th gen f body wheels on 80 and up A/G body? i know 3rd gen fit but they are getting hard to find. if anyone has anythig for sale let me know. thanks.

PS i checked the wheel fitment guide but it did not give me too much info on these wheels.

Not really up to speed on late model El Caminos but IMO,those wheels have too much backspacing to just bolt on w/o problems.

a couple years back car craft had an article about what wheels will fit and how. they said you can only get a 8in wheel in the back of an 80s gbody before you have to start working the sheet metal and frame possibly. if thats true then the 17x9 rims that are the WS6 wheels arent supposed to fit, atleast not inside the fenderwell area anyway.

They will fit, but you will need to buy 2.5" (I think) billet adapters to have them properly offset. A few people have done the mod without major headaches. Here's Tony Kiszka's '85 Monte SS - http://home.earthlink.net/~kiszka/Wheel_updates.htm

You can also use ZQ8 S10 wheels and enlarge the center hub to fit over the "hat" on the G-body rotor. Here's my daily driver '87 SS with 16x8" 2002 ZQ8s -

And, here's my old '85 SS with 1998 16x8" ZQ8 wheels. They're basically the same as the '91-'92 Camaro Z28 wheels -

WS6 rims are 9 inches wide. all the rims you showed were 8 inches wide. just wanted to make sure that was clear. like i said ive been told only an 8 inch wide rim will fit. i find this hard to believe though, so im not positive on it

thanks for the info. yeah 9 inch wide wheels would be pushing it. I passed on the ws6 wheels and picked up a set of regular firebird wheels. just trying to figure out what size adaptor to get. i would love to run wider wheels and tires but the frame in the rear is even with the back of the wheel well. anyone mini-tub a 78-86 A/G body?

I'm running an 18x10 on the back of my '80 Malibu with a 275/35 tire.....eventually I plan to notch the frame and run a nitto 555r in either a 305/35 or a 305/45....depending on what I end up with for a tranny and gearing when its all said and done.....as for right now everything in the wheelwells is factory dimensions and no problems at all with 5" backspace ............Big Picture (http://www.fidnet.com/~harleyms/angle.jpg) btw fronts are 18x8 with a 4.75" bs
