I recently purchased a new car, a 66 chevelle, and have been slowly upgrading it to where I would prefer it to be. The wheels and tires went on last week. 19x8 front, and 20x10 rear. Front tires are 245/35/19, and rears are a 285/30/20 in Sumitomo HTRZIII's. Stock wheel tubs in the rear.
Here are some photos:

Wheels are Rushforth "Super Spokes" with a brushed and cleared center, and polished outer. I think they match the car perfecty. The front suspension is all Global West, rear is tubular arms and lowering springs. I plan on upgrading to Vari-shocks, and lowering the front another inch.

hey jon, i agree with VT pull back some!!! also, would it be way to much to ask if i could get some rear shots of the car? that show the tire width in relation to the body size? they look wide from the view you post but cant tell 100%.
Im starting to like jasons wheels more and more now that they are popping up.

Sorry guys, it's because I come from a long line of Budnik Wheels alumni, and you can tell from their website, it's just how we have trained ourselves to photograph wheels, to put emphasis on the wheel design.
:pat:
I'll shoot some straight up side photos and that rear shot tonite when I get home from the shop.
I'm running a 285/30/20 because it was available in the tire brand I wanted. Yes, a 295 would work as well.

Maybe you were "stoked" because of how good the photo angles made them look? :) LOL. I'm flattered you've kept up on my cars however. Thanks.
I'll have some "total package" photos for you tomorrow. It was way too dark when I got home from the shop tonite. That's what I get for working late almost every day.

How do you like the Sumi's at that large of diameter? Noisy?
DriverzInc
02-12-2008, 11:45 PM
A little more noisy than the Nitto 555's I normally run, however, no louder than my last set of BFG KDW2's. Those were much louder, so the Sumi's are great, for the price, and they stick.
I PM'd the backspace on the rear, and Yes a 295 will fit.

Thanks Ron and everyone else! Email sent to you and yes there are new styles coming out that are looking great!
Here's the final rendering of Jon's car. The image in the background is actually a close-up of the hood stripe, skulls and all.
Just goes to show you what a little imagination, wheels and stance can do for a nice yet ordinary car.

It's amazing what wheels and tires will do. And yeah, the artistic shots do enhance the wheels, but we need perspective man.
I also really like how the steering wheel ties in with the stock dash. It modernizes it without looking gawdy. Just one question though. What kind of wheel is it?

Thanks, it was actually pretty beat up when I got the car. I took it off, and brush finished it myself then clear coated it. I 'think' it's a grant, but quite honestly, I couldn't tell ya.

Here's one of the new designs in the works. I think this wheel would look AWESOME on a PT car.

Wow! that desktop wallpaper is AWESOME! Great work! The wheels are outstanding! I have decided to change my wheel choice in favor of a Rushforth design! I believe I'm going to go with the "Sharp Shooter" I'm a little ways off, but it will be my choice.
Great work!

I have a 67 chevelle with the same size wheel and tire set up.. Have trouble getting the suspension right. What was you set up.. Did you use a lowered spring and then cut them? Thanks
Wow! You must have been digging deep in the archives! Jon can correct me if I'm mistaken but that car if I recall had 3" drop springs from OPG. As far as "getting the suspension right" do you mean it's not low enough, too low, rubs?

The Thread from the Dead...
One very Sweet Chevelle.. Yes, I am a Rushforth fan, and a Super Spoke fan , so excellent choice, and the Stance looks great.
One Question...Can you really Hear your Tires ???? I have the New KDW2's and Pipes Exhaust, and i could not hear my Tires going down the road at all.
Your Chevelle is Very nice...

I have the same wheel size on my 67. On the rear, the passanger side has 1/4" gap between the wheel and the chrome trim. On the drivers side I have 1/16". Too close. Did you have to trim your fender lips or is mine closer due to the chrome trim. Does yours rub? How much clearence do you have between your wheels and fender lip in the rear? Thanks for the help. I doen't want to ruin my new wheels.

Wow, you are right, thread for the dead for sure. That car is long gone, but those were 19x8s and 20x10s with a 3" lowering spring on the rear, and a Speedtech front coil over kit. Tire size was a 245/35/19 and a 285/30/20 Sumittomo HTRZIII, which do run a little narrow, like a Nitto does. I think I talked to you today on the phone if I'm not mistaken.
Thank you for the compliments on the end result, worked hard to get that car to set "perfect" back when Jason and I were pushing Rushforth Wheels pretty hard.
