View Full Version : C4 Brake bracket (caliper) – aka Special bracket
Anyone know where I can buy this bracket?
I don’t have the tools or skill to make it myself.
It’s the one on Pozziracing.com for putting C4 brakes on 1st gen Camaro or A-Body.
I’m planning to put C4 (12”) brakes on my 69 GTO.
I did it many years ago on my 68 Camaro (don’t remember where I bought it from).
Thanks

Try Speedtech Performance, they sell them.

Touring-Classics and Speedtech both offer C5/C6 bracket kits that use the 13" C4 HD rotor for more clearance between the spokes and caliper than a C5/C6 rotor provides, but I don't think either of them sell kits for the C4 calipers. Baer definitely sells C4 based kits (Track Kits) for your application...but I don't know if they'll sell you just the brackets.
You're probably right that someone out there is making them, but I don't know who anymore...I'll keep my ears open and post back up if I find anything. Any reason you'd rather go with the C4 setup than the LS1 F-body stuff? Are you hoping to run 16" wheels?

I'd lik to run 15" wheels; only reason I want the c4 setup.
(I was able to use stock 15" rims on the Camaro)
I never did get to the rears, so I'm hoping I can use 15's back there.
By the way I checked with speedtech, thier bracket woun't work.
thanks
Anyone have a good templete, that I can give to a shop to make?
OK - I've got the temp.
What type of metal should be used?
thanks

you should be fine with normal 1018 crs (cold roll steel); avoid the cheap hot rolled steels. You could go with a stronger alloy or higher carbon steel, but as long as you don't go too think 1018 has always worked; I think I have 1 extra set of these around from doing these conversions years back; I can check the thickness if you need it, but I think it was 1/4" or 5/16" thick. -Dan
