Just bought an 2004 6.oL out of a wrecked Escalade esv!:headbang:
Now Im starting to think about upgrades, Any suggestion on a specific cam that I can use for my chevelle?
Just worried about piston /valve clearance and driveability, But I want ovbiously want the most power. I plan on having it tuned, changing to a BBK intake and adding headers THANKS !

I would give Texas Speed a call about the clearance issue. They are a sponsor here and can be found over to the right in our list of sponsors.

What heads are on that motor? You could do a mild cam (224/228) some L92 heads from Texas Speed (if that motor has a 4" bore, which I think it does) L76 intake setup from Scoggin Dickey and some long tube headers and you'll be grinning ear to ear. Guaranteed 525-550 flywheel horsepower.

Scroll down a bit and look for the LQ4 thread, some great info in there that applies directly to what you have.

What did the LQ9 set you back if you don't mind me asking? What did it come with?

Awesome thanks for the info....The motor I bought off craigslist for 1000 bucks but I still have to pull the motor out myself. Came with motor, all wiring, air conditioning. No trans, and radiator is smashed.

If you are doing a 6.0L mill those heads to bump the compression and do a 230+/230+ cam on a 112 for manual and 114 for an auto.

what do you intend to do with the car? What type of power band do you like? Broad and flat or high RPM screamer? You need to answer these type questions before you decide what cam.
