I just watched an old episode of Monster Garage I taped, where they make the "Cool Daddy Caddy". One of the builders featured is Darryl Starbird, and they credit him with building the first ever bubble top (bubble glass), called "Predicta"
Previously I had seen a documentary about Ed "Rat Fink" Roth, and I thought he was credited with creating the first bubble top?
Can someone clear this up?

Both Predicta and the Beatnik Bandit were both built in 1960, so I'm not sure who built his car first.
That said, a few minutes of googling gave me Ron Aguirre, who might have the superior claim, as his car was built in 1959.

I'm sure somebody over at the H.A.M.B. knows http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/, as that's more their baileywick.
Wow, this might be my most unhelpful post yet, and that's saying something. Still though, that bubble-top Vette's pretty cool.

Roth may not have been the first, but he certainly perfected it.
