TLC repeated the Foose Camaro Unique performance episode. The first time I watched it I didnt realy pay attention to the details but since the troubles with Unique has come to light I realy watched the details this time.

Dont get me wrong the car as a whole is simply beautiful but in its parts is a train wreck. The firewall looked like it was in a wreck and near the body mounts it was wrinkled a bit and they had primered over it so I assume it stayed like that in the final build. They where rattle can painting a bunch of stuff.... Fine for an average car but not the $100G+ car that would have been to build. The welding I watched being done on some suspension parts was scary.

Anyone else watch. ..

I watched it last night also. I was wondering what ever happened. Did a bunch of them get built?

I too watched it last night with a much more critical eye. I realize the car was a test mule but being that they were going to show it around the country I disapproved of Unique's build quality.

No, the value will crash. It's well established that the quality just wasn't up to par and the few who did receive there cars are still in in legal battles with Unique. One guy I know in particulary has had his car over 2 years now and still doesn't have a title.

Hello my friend,

I'm interested in purchasing your Year One Foose 69 poster. My name is John Smith. My father was an exporter of diamonds in South Africa. He was recently murdered and I now fear for my life. I know that you were a trusted associate, and as such would like for you to please hold onto all of his dollars. Please provide your bank account number, social security number, and current address, and send in the enclosed envelope to my current refuge in Nigeria.

I watched too. I also raised an eyebrow on some of the more "rattlecan" approaches to building a $100K automobile.

i was just wondering if anyone here knows Chip and what his reaction to the Unique scam is. I have alot of respect for Chip and everything he does for our hobby and I know Chip is a stand up guy and is one of, if not the best at what he does. just curious as to what he thinks of all of this.

I read where he has legally parted ways with Unique and I'm sure he was chomping at the bit to distance himself asap.
On another note, the value of the Foose Mustangs has already dropped significantlly. One of the Ford dealerships in my area has a half dozen of these leftover from last year and they can't find anyone remotely interested much less buying. I believe their only hope is listing them on Ebay and trying to get what they can just to get rid of them.

Sounds like the old timers talking about year old Charger Daytonas and Superbirds stuck on the lots. Nobody wanted to cruise the drive in "then" with one....... now go buy one?
