Hey there everyone,
I'm Jed, "world2xplor", I live in Cullowhee, NC. an hour west of Asheville, in the mountains. I'm an all-around car-guy who has managed to pick up several on-going car/truck projects through the years. '50 Chevy p/u, '61 Willys wagon 4x4, '53 Chevy 2dr. hdtp, etc.
I'm new as a posting member to this site, been lurking for a couple weeks around the web looking for info about mods that I can make to the '66 Chevelle 2dr. hdtop I managed to acquire after 2 years of begging the previous owner to part with it. He'd only driven it maybe a couple hundred miles in the last 6 years. When he recently decided to move to a smaller house without a garage he decided it was time to part with it. My gain.... Decent car, body, paint, and interior are very respectable for a 'driver' that will turn heads for the simple fact that its complete and not a cookie cutter car like every other car on the road.
Anyway, I'm looking to ditch the drums for discs and update the front suspension by changing the spindles and possibly the A-arms if that's the general consensus, then as much wheel and tire as everyone here will recommend that will provide "The Look" but still be drivable. I prefer the "pro-touring " look with the low stance and fenders full of rubber...... Any advice from other members will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site. We are going to have to have pics. You said you were an hour west of Asheville. I work in a little town called Waterville about once a year.
You will get plenty of ideas from the pro touring group.
