I have a set of serious street front disc brakes on my 69 chevelle. This kit is sapposed to work with my stock drum parts(lines spindles proportioning valve). But under hard braking the back wheels lock up, the front brakes wont even hold the car to do a brake stand in a water box. I have bleed the lines numerus times and i have even put an adjustable propotioning valve on the rear brake line. i have know idea what the problem my be. I was wondering if any one else has had a problem like this or what you guys think may be the problem.

Thanks Mike

That sounds like you need a disc drum proportioning valve, instead of a drum only one. You could use the drum only valve on a 4 wheel drum conversion, not disc/drum. The drum only valves are usually only an empty block to connect lines and a warning light. I did the same thing with a '67 Chevelle. It stopped O.K. under normal braking, but would lock up terrible under harder stopping. The drum/disk valve fixed it.

Not to high jack this thread but...you said use a disc drum proportioning valve. I am in the process of putting Kore3 Hybrid front disc setup on my car, for awhile the car will still have drums on the rear but will eventually go to disc also. I've been told I will need a proportioning valve for this. If I go with the disc drum proportioning valve, will this proportioning valve still work for me when I go to disc/disc or will I have to then buy a disc/disc proportioning valve?

Also, anyone got any suggestions for the most cost efficient, yet still quality functional proporting valve?

Thanks
