I was told that I cant run leaded racing fuel like 118 octaine 76 , with efi wide band O2's. I remember reading that also in my edelbrock efi book some where. Its supposed to screw up the readings and make them useles.
Is this true or a myth?

I found this thread at turbododge.com:

good thread. I guess they dont retune them for diff temps and such if they are removing the wideband after tuning the first time.

Its a toss up on what to do I guess.
Leave it in and shorten its life, pay the price or take it out when not tuning, I dont know about you guys but i tune on mine a good bit and like the reassurance of my AFR gauge that everythings ok.
The temps around here screw with edelbrocks proflo, the IAT sensor bottoms out. I think its around 50 or something like that. You either tune it or park it. I guess no more good gas for me. :(
Thanks for the link.

I'll bet those sub -50deg. temps are nice for WOT. If the roads are dry!
I'm new to EFI tuning. Never even have done it myself yet as I just recently got my EFI project running and have other things to do before that becomes necessary, so I'll be watching this thread too.

I wonder how many here are running their W/B full time? Seems that, considering cost, it might be better to remove it after tuning. (dunno')

Are you running true dual exhaust on a V8? If so, would you use 2 sensors?

Sorry for the hi-jack, but I have searched for an answer to this Q with no luck, and I hope you or someone else would chime in an answer.

Yeah most of the time it floods the plugs and it will misfire for a while at start up. unless I cut back the cold fuel enrichment. Pain in the A. More reason for me to get rid of edelbrocks ecm.

Yeah that is a good question, the pro flo system just runs one sensor right after the collector. I dont know why just one, I think they are all like that. So it doesnt matter if you have duals or not still one as far as I know.

High lead fuel will contaminate the o2 sensors, simply run 100 octane unleaded racing fuel, or NASCAR spec race fuel as its now unleaded, or look for E85 its 105 octane.
