I'm looking for a set of 1 3/4" Headers to put on my 69 Camaro with a 400 small block and factory A/C. I was wanting to run the D368 from Doug's but noticed under the application guide that it doesn't fit A/C. Has anyone run these with A/C and can comment on fitment? If not what others might fit that have 1 3/4" primaries.
Thanks

NO headers fit with fatory AC. The thing is that the bracket was secured to the exhaust Manifold. THe header flange is obviously MUCH thinner than an exhaust manifold. They just need to specify that. I have always used some pipe (~1/2" i.d.) to take up the diff. between the manifold and header flange thickness.

I'm not concerned with the compressor mount since I'm using front runner system. I've heared there can be pipe clearance issues on some headers by the A/C box that sticks out of the firewal. Anyone run into that problem?

I've never seen the headers hit the evap case, but getting to the back bolt is an absolute PITA!! Even without the case there it sucks.

I have a similar problem descriibe in this post. After purchasing a pair of Hooker headers and being told they don't fit with my factory A/C, I purchase a pair of Hedman Husler Headers with an A/C bracket. I have installed the pair of Hedman Husler Hedders P/N 65003 on my 67 Camaro with 350 SBC and factory Air. I am looking for a diagram or picture of how the A/C bracket P/N 20110 is supposed to fit around the Hedder and plastic A/C evaporator box. I don't want to screw it up and lose by A/C. Any help would be greaty appreciated.

IIRC, the 67/8 is a pass side AC compressor Driver's side Alt. That explains the evap case to compressor question. Overall, the bracket should not move the compressor any further outboard (toward the fender) and definitely not fore/aft as belt alignment would be affected. I can't imagine there should be any issue with case to comp clearance as a result.

Just wanted to update on what I ended up with. The Hedman 1 3/4 header #65003 did fit with a small dimple required on #6 tube to clear the box. However it did not work with my 800 series PS gear box. I ended up buying 1 header from Dougs D368 for the driver side and it fit well. Both headers are about the same length and should work fine. The Dougs is a much nicer header.
