Hello All,
I have heard that Sunday's Speed Ventures run at Laguna Seca has only has 30 cars total! Anyone looking for a load of cheap track time at Laguna should be there. It is possible too get more than double track time at this event. One detail: rain is possible on Sunday. I have too work this Weekend, so it will probably be dry. There will be a television at the event for those who would like too see the Super Blowout (Super Bowl). It seems like a good opportunity too me. Even Saturday's event has 30 openings. The cost is only $260 per day.

Anyone else going to Leguna this weekend?
I don't care about the superbowl and was thinking of doing a last minute showing. Biggest issue is I have no heater core for the drive there and back lol.

Rain is probable with temperatures in the low 50's. Based on my local weather sources, plan on getting very wet ...

Go on Saturday. I made a mistake they have 50 openings. As for the rain; Laguna is not a bad track in the wet IMO. If I can get the contractor to work 18 hour shifts with me I may be able to make Sunday's event, but it will rain for sure then.

I dunno,
The email from SV is pretty enticing IMO:
Greetings Football Fans,
We've got some updates for you regarding Laguna Seca, the SuperBowl, the Lotus Challenge Series, and other matters:
1.
Saturday is forecasted to be partially cloudy, with no rain (we have 50 spots left!). So for Saturday: No Rain, Empty Track, $60 off our normal price. That's a no-brainer.
2.
Sunday is forecasted to have a slight chance of showers, meaning MAYBE it will be wet for a period of time, but mostly dry. (We have only 30 people signed up!)
3.
The final score for the Super Bowl is 41-27, Patriots. I'm not rooting for the Patriots, I'm just telling you what the final score will be so you don't have to watch the game and can come out to the track. I promise you'll feel energized and full of life and vitality after leaving. After leaving your SuperBowl party I promise you'll feel stuffed with chips and dip, and bloated with beer and soda.
4.
The Speed Ventures / NFL Double Header: If you insist on watching the game, even after knowing the final score, you can still drive on Saturday, or even drive Sunday morning and leave by 2:30 to catch the game at your hotel or local sports bar!
5.
Even though we are only charging $260 and have 4 x 20m sessions scheduled, we will let people run extra sessions as usual. Given how empty the track will be, you will probably get 6-8 sessions, or even more.
/snip
Thanks and hope to see you at the track.

Oh! Is it that obvious? I'm boiling that I can't take advantage of that great deal, but I get too setup a UV laser and optics system which actually somewhat amusing. If the job is done early...I'll be there Sunday. If not I guess I will just have too wait until next weekend at Infineon with NASA. I hope it doesn't rain for that one though. Hopefully Chad goes and tells us how great it was and how he ran 9-20minute sessions.

The progress at work is going well we already have the laser processing, and just finished for the night. We are already at the tuning stage. If that goes as quickly...Laguna Marathon Sunday!!! Chad will you make it?

I've been checking the weather a few times a day and based on the latest forecast it doesn't look good. Since I can show up and pay on that day it's going to be a game time decision. I've ruled out Saturday/tomorrow. Will decide on Sunday based on some work I'm going to do to the car tomorrow and the weather.

Yeah, and stop working on other peoples stuff too David! Just get the Lola done and spank everyone.
Mine is about 700# too light in the front end right now so I'm out.
Thanks again.

I am out because I'll be at work again tomorrow. We still have problems. We fixed the laser stability issue with an AOM, but the AOM distorts the beam! Sometimes it just goes wrong. I worked 13 hours yesterday and 14 today. I tried. The car is ready though.
Some friends are going, and I'm green with envy. I'll be at Infineon next Weekend though. I'll probably rain.
David will the Lola be ready for the Wine Country Classic?
Charlie how's the engine coming along?

There was rain coming down sideways ... and there was no dry. Cold and rainy all damn day. Sucked but it probably sucked more for the folks that were slogging it around Laguna ...

I'm thinking about taking it to Road America. I've never run it out of state, so it's a big deal for me. Need to do a mini-restoration on it to get ready. I also want to repaint it in original colors.
Here is how it looked in 1965 at Watkins Glen with Buck Fulp driving, the car's first race. He had 26 on it all the other races, this first race, he couldn't get 26 so used 54, which is 26X2=52:

This is the second race at Bridgehampton: I think the color of the upper photo is more correct.

David,
Run Road America...You only live once, and I really like the paint scheme in the photos.
As for Laguna today Aaron ran the event and got 7-20 minute sessions. He called the lab after his 5th session to let me know how great a time it was. He said that there were only 5 cars in his first session and 12 in the second. He ran both Blue and Black groups. It was wet for most of the day, but the track was drying toward the end of the day. He said you could push at about 80%, so it was pretty good, and it wasn't as cold as the 20th was.
Charlie good luck with that engine. You have one great car!
Can't wait for Infineon next Weekend. Will it be dry? Only time will tell.

use www.accuweather.com (http://www.accuweather.com) for pretty predictable weather forecasts. They go 15 days out and you should be looking at dry weather for this upcoming weekend.

Dave I really like the way it looks in this picture...all one color rather then black on the lower half really makes the car look different.
Certainly put it back to original colors...:kewlpics:
