Will the fact that the aftermarket is producing new 69 camaros increase or decrease the value of my old car? Any thoughts.

I don't think to many guys are into the whole made in Taiwan 2008 camaro crap. I am the last guy that gives a **** about numbers matching but I want a 1969 camaro. So my answer is no. :naughty:

I think it may increase the value somewhat maybe not right away but within a couple of years if the aftermarket gets real popular. Especially if the scammers try to pass them off as the oriinal real deal

IF the aftermarket gets real popular?!? Have you not seen a catalog for first gens lately? You can get an aftermarket reproduction for EVERY SINGLE part you need to build a 1st gen Camaro. For 35 or 40 grand, you can have you're very own full-scale AMT/Ertl 1969 Camaro! (Assuming you assemble it yourself.)

I want to see you build that car for $35,000. The shell costs 14 or 15.

No, Taiwan bodies will not affect the value of your car. What will affect the value of your car is condition, correctness and time at which you decide to sell you Camaro.

In 20 years the old car market leader will be a 1990's Toyata Supra Turbo, not a 69 Camaro. Everyone who desired a 69 Camaro will be dead or dying by then!

I don't agree... I am 30 and the new cars throughout my childhood sucked. Let's not even talk about this new junk. The 69 Camaro is the most popular muscle car ever produced. It's legacy will outlast anyone here.

I got more than 20 years left than all your old asses, so I will buy them up dirt cheap.

They will affect the value about like '32 bodies did. it will increase the value some, but not alot.

I meant the shell only not the parts selection. A complete shell makes it to easy for the scammers to suddenly restore a rare car and rip off the less knowledgeable collector. Just look at ebay all the people just buying tags to stick on other bodies.
