Suggestions for a '71 Chevelle plz

I recently purchased a 1971 chevelle and want to convert her to a Pro-Touring setup. She currently has Summit Radial Trac - Front - All Season SR4 Steel Radial P205/70R15 95S M+S tires andRear - P275/60R15 107S M+S Performance Steel Radial M+S tires on 15" Cragar SS Mags. This is more of a street/strip setup I think.
I have tried to do the research here, but I am just not very knowledgeable about this and am quite confused, lol. I like the staggered look, but am not sure about how that affects the performance (handling, control, and cornering) of a Pro-Tourer and if that should be done. I am looking to upgrade from stock suspension to a SC&C Street-Comp Stage 2+ PLUS Package and CURRECTRAC Rear (and 4 wheel disc brakes) in the future, if that affects choices.

So...
- What type of wheel/tire setup do you suggest to make it a ProTourer (something that will not take away from the performance of the upgraded suspension)?

A sweet set of these in an 18/19 combo, or 19/20 combo would be perfect. We can build them to fit, and get the widest tire possible under that car, front and rear.

It's called the "Rated X", here shown with a brushed and cleared center section, and polished rim outer.

MikeNSX - That's an awesome ride! Did you have to do any cutting or mods to fits those? I was trying to stay away from alterations if possible (not sure how involved it is)?

jy211- as far as budget? I plan to save to get the ones I want. I am looking to get tires maybe by summer. I just want to get setup with all my upgrades/changes once and hopefully be set (yeah right I know, lol). So, once I determine what I need/want, I am just working towards saving for it. I don't plan on getting ridiculous with prices, but who knows, hehe.

Just bolted the wheels right up...nothing else needed.

The wheels are 17x8 front with a 4 3/4 backspace and the rears are 17x10 with a 5 5/8 backspace. Tires are 245/45-17 front and 275/40-17 rear.

I bought them from Newstalgia Wheels in Chattanooga. Go to their website or call and talk with Howard. He can help you with ideas as well as appropriate sizing.

I think I am going to go with 17x8" A.R. TT II's all around then.

But I was still wondering....

Does staggering the wheels with a larger width on the rear take away from the handling/cornering performance of an upgraded suspension?

I don't want my upgrades/money to work against each other. I like the staggered look, so I was also thinking about 17x8" fronts and 17x9.5-10" rears?
