We are currently working on a 66-67 chevelle that we have removed the vent window and are currently having tempered side glass made. i want to know if anyone would be interested in purchasing the glass. they wont be cheep but in the big picture of doing the modification they won't be that much either, they are being made by a glass company that builds alot of OEM concept glass.
the cost will be about 1000.00 per side.if i can order 10 at a time

want to see if there is any interest for resale. i know how much the first 2 are costing :hammer: :seizure:

Sounds like a great idea, but that is way too much bank for me. Good luck though!

Hey Blake, can you give me the name of the supplier you're using please? One of my clients is still searching for a vendor willing to do that on a Mustang. PM, call or email if you want. Thanks!

Hey Jon
if i told you what the first 2 are costing you would gladly pay 1000. each!!!!
but really if you consider the look your getting if you building a car of that level then it's not that out of the question.

I beg to differ. I'm sure it will look nice, but some vehicles it looks weird to me. Like the 67-72 trucks just look like there is something missing with 1 piece side glass. But thats me.

I am however looking forward to pics.

If you are only doing one car, why dont you just cut down 2 front windshileds. I have seen a few custom cars that have been done that way. way cheap.

Give theses guys a call they are friends of mine http://www.trivalleyautoglass.com

here are a fewothe glass his guys they makes paterns or molds then ships the mold to get the glass made.

Here is a place that does both i think

http://www.procurveglass.com/templates.html

This place makes the glass if you send them a mold.

I was looking to do the exact same thing on my '65 Chevelle. I found a guy that deals in OEM glass that would be willing to make the glass too, he's here in the Portland Oregon area. By the sounds of it he was MUCH cheaper then your guy....? Maybe you should check him out....

The issue with using front windshields is that they are not TEMPERED they are laminated, it might work in a car like a 67-68 mustang that has a trim arround the glass but a laminted glass would probably break the first time you closed the door too hard.

Thanks for lookin out TJ :)
By the way, I'm still trying to make up my mind on all of that... Trying to decide whether I want to keep going with it as is....or go all out and build a full tube, one off like your Challenger build..... Hmm:hand:

the 65 chevelle had flat glass does it not? if so yes most custom glass places can make the tempered flat glass the Real issue is when it has a curve in it. it needs to be press formed and you need a custom mold and on and on. hense the expence.

Nope, there is most definitely a slight curve to the glass. He was going to make 2 molds (right and left). The molds were the expensive part of course but it sounds as if they were cheaper then the guy you found. He quoted each mold at 1400-1800 (so that would be the cost on the first set) and then each additional set would be 600. Goodluck!

Easy...get the side glass, weather stripping and hardware from a 73-74. There will be some modification on the inner door panel but nothing crazy. Search for a thread here: http://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums/
