Just saw where Doug's two sons were killed yesterday in an auto accident near their home. Jon, 17 and James, 12 were killed instantly when the car they were passengers in crashed head on into another vehicle. My heart goes out to Doug and his family.

I can't imagine what it would be like to lose two of your children like that. One report says that Jon was driving.
My condolences go out to Doug and his family, as well as the family that they collided with.

Horrible...this is just horrible. My condolences.
horrible loss.
I do wonder though who Doug Herbert is? Is he a member here? I see from a google search he's a drag racer. I've just never heard the name before.

My heart and prayers go out to them as well! A neighbor I mine lost both of his sons that way, his only children, and it has scared him very deeply. I cannot imagine losing either of my children or grandchild. I truely feel for his family.

I hope that HE and his wife makes it thru after something like that. Sometimes that destroys a person.

Absolutely tragic. As a parent myself, I can't comprehend the grief that the family must feel. It is shown too often how precious & fragile life really is. Take every opportunity to love your children & spend quality time with them, cause you never know what's in the future. My heart goes out to the Herbert family & every other parent that has seen a child pass before themselves.
One of the reasons I'm building the Cuda is so that I can teach, learn & work with my son building something together that we can that pride in & always remember as a great experience. I'll hold him extra long today.
Take care guys,
scotty

That is why my kids will never be to big for a kiss and a hug from dad:angel:

Amen to that Scott. I hardly ever hug my Dad, at the appropriate times it's just a handshake. I guess it's some macho thing. But with my kids I am always giving them hugs whenever I can. Maybe this thing between my Dad and I is why I do it. But I won't let that happen with MY kids. Like you said, they'll never be too old for a hug. Kisses.....well, I can back off on that a bit when they get into their teens. LOL!!!
