Bought a 84 Camaro today for a $1000 offer. Story.. four years ago a 383 was built for it, then installed by owner in a freinds garage. Break in was run on motor, 20 minutes at 2000 to 2500 rpm then the car was driven two miles to his house. When a oil drip was noticed. Was coming from the oil pan gasket. Owner says he's not a mechanic, tried to pull pan, couldn't with motor sitting on engine mounts. No cherry picker. Replaced pan. Left it. Later rented picker tried to lift motor with a carb plate. Broke off bolt for carb in manifold. Bagged the whole idea. Had a few kids. Now he has to move across the state. Needed to sell. Car very ugly motor not running. Figured he'd have a hard time selling it, Heres the good part..:bananna2: 383 good aftermarket crank, Lunati roller cam, rockers 1.6, fluiddmpr, Vic junior 23' angle plug aluminum heads. Edlebrock Vic? manifold, kind with air gap under. Mallory dist, Mallory ign box rev limiter, Mallory coil, accel wires, Demon carb, lots
more all new. $1500 reciept just for the motor to be assembled. Built 700r4, B&M ratchet. Eaton Posi Radius traction bars(?), 3" exhaust. 16" nice Centerline wheels with new tires.
Now just to cross my fingers, brave the cold, rehook a few things up and test.
Any suggestion on before the fire up to do for a motor sitting for four years.
