Make it a 2 Door or Keep it 4?

I would go 2 door. To make it look right you would need to stretch the doors or use the longer door from a 2 door car. I have thought of doing the same thing with my 67 wagon, but the side glass is a major stumbling block.

Awe come on guys build it as a 4 door and also I saw one donr(not same year but 4dr wagon) and the guy did it as 4 Lambo doors AND suicided the rears.
It would look very cool if you got the opening right on the rears.
and another idea is do it like the old Lincolns, just suicide the rears.

my friend is doin one for a customer (making it 2 door)..if i remember right I think he was adding doors off a 2 door impala and removing the C pillar and making all new 1 peice glass for the quarters. I will see if i can get some pics.

but I like 4 door wagons myself.

4 door - that would be one sweet a** family wagon or grocery getter. Imagine picking the kids up from school in 4 door wagon like that, not to mention the fact that no one would have to jump over the front seats to get in the back.

Really though, keep it a 4 door. An Impala wagon doesn't need any special tricks to be cool. Spend the cash elsewhere.

Make it what you want. But to me the cool factor here would be for me to walk up to it in a show and say "damn those weren't available, someone went thru a lot to make that a killer machine let alone graft in some 2dr model doors.

I think it would be cool to do something like the Mazda RX-8 or the late model king cab pick-ups with the little half size rear suicide doors.
If you want somthing different, this would be different.

Having owned an extended cab truck I can say that the extra door is hell in parking lots. If you have passengers in the back and you park between cars you are trapped between the doors when they are both open looking at each other wondering who's going to have to get back in and close a door first! You end up doing the Open, Open, Close, Open, Close, Close drill! Not that that wagon would ever be in a crowded parking lot!

that red 4-door wagon is cool but,...................a rendering is a renderings. 4-doors are sorta lame (don't get offended, most people will lie to you and not give you the straight up truth). if you can do that kind of modding work and it's safe and you shorten up the rear end a foot or so, do it. i'll bow down.

one more note, you can suicide the rear doors, bag it, get some rims, and let your wife drive it. that'd be cool or at least she'd have something cooler than a minivan.

the predecessor to the rx-8 was the last great mazda performance car. there are good looking NEW 4-doors (but not that yellow thing), but old 2-doors were always cooler, period.

Can you take a side shot that is 90 degrees from the car instead of 45 degrees or less. I'd like to see what the door actually looks like in relation to the rest of the car. Thanks and looks like it's going to be a great ride!
