Hello, I am currently looking at building a 1998 350 out of a Suburban. I know it has a roller cam. I want to change the roller to hydraulic and swap the heads. Can this be done? If so what do I need to do to make this possible or do I just put the hydralic cam in and run the lash? I have a comp cam and world product sportsman 2 heads. Or should I keep the vortec heads and get a roller GM Hot Cam and have a valve job done and just stick with a roller cam instead of going with the hydraulic and sportsman heads. Thanks for any imput.

You can put a standard hydraulic flat tappet in it but WHY!!! If you already have the cam---sell it and stick with the roller. They make better power more efficiently. As long as the lifters in it are okay you can even reuse those on your new cam without any problems. Do your self a favor and stick with a roller, it is hands down a better way to go. I wouldn't spend the money on a GM hot cam, I would call comp and ask them what they recommend for what you have. Hope this helps
