Or am I the only one?

In my 78 Malibu right now I'm rockin the column shift/bench seat/center hump cup-holder combo with no plans of changing it anytime soon.

I am infatuated with the Bench seat / 4 speed setups, (my chevelle was this originally), but because of the reason we're all here, there's no way I can imagine a bench seat in a good handling car.

I love them. Have one in my 69 Formal Roof Cobra, with 4 speed. Probably would not have bought the car with buckets. Add it the hubcaps with painted wheels and I was sold. Definitely not the seat to go around a turn in though for a PT ride.

My Malibu has a bench. Definately an adventure shifting the 4L60E on the column with that LT1 throwing me and the car around.

i know a great song about bench seats

Stick shifts and safety belts
Bucket seats have all got to go
When I'm driving in my car
It makes my baby seem so far
I need you here with me
Not way over in a bucket seat
I need you to be here with me
not way over in a bucket seat

But when we driving in my Malibu
It's easy to get right next to you
I say "Baby, scoot over please"
And then she's right there next to me

I need you here with me
Not way over in a bucket seat
I need you to be here with me
Not way over in a bucket seat

Well alot of good cars are Japanese
But when we're driving far
I need my baby, I need my baby next to me

Yeah I guess after being married so long you can't wait to have a vehicle with bucket seats.

Love my bench seat. Ive got so many miles on it right now the sweet spot holds me in place like a racing bucket.

Im sure if some one had custom interior work done they could have a bench with high bolsters (not sure if thats the correct word)

Or a drag race car with one bucket seat.

The bench seat is an adventure at track day, but I can ride all day in it compared to my wife's Acura which after three hours, I'm done.

Oh man, bench seats are great. In high school I had a '78 Delta 88 with a bench seat. I learned a lot on that bench seat...

i think the answer is owning more than one car!

gotta have your mean hot rod for the track and hell rides

other times its cool to be low and slow.
nothing wrong with having a nice cruiser in the stable!
