Made some progress this weekend and thought it was time to post some updates.
To jog everyone’s memory, this is on the flat black 66 corvette that I had at RTTH 3. The car did great in its rough form and was really only lacking in the power dept due to the mild LT1 under the hood. That has now been remedied with the transplant of a 2002 LS6 and Tremec 6spd. For those who remember Andrew's Mazda RX7 (AndrewB70 on this site) this is the LS6 and pro shifted 6 spd from it.
Overall the swap was very easy, I Made my own motor and frame plates to adapt the LS into the C4 front sub frame. For headers I tried several and settled with a set of LS swap headers for a 55 Chevy. Also during the change out I went ahead and added a hydro boost unit to get ready for the pro-charger which will come in the future.
After hooking up all the essentials the engine fired at the first twist of the key.
All I can say is WOW. The new combo was definitely the missing link to this build. Everyone better look out at RTTH 4...Maybe I can better the 2 trophy's I took home from RTTH3.
Here is a short video clip that is worth watching. http://youtube.com/watch?v=80RXT5CuI9c

Nice! That's a really cool car... it was fun watching that one at RTTH3. Sounds killer with the new motor!

Glad to see it back on the road Brian. Don't be a sissy, keep the face plated T56. Once you really figure it out its smoother than driving a regular T56.

I love the quick positive up shifts so I will give it some time before I make the decision. I want to do some real world testing like in a tight autocross course to see if it can be driven hard with the down shifts. If I do decide to switch it out I will be posting it here on this site.

All you have to do to downwhift is just blip the throttle and move the lever as fast as you can. No synchronzed down shifts can ever be so fast.

Been a while so time to post some updates.
First I changed out the rear quarters to get the factory body lines in the rear, Then took the frame to bare metal and did a base/clear in black. Filed and sanded off all the casting marks from the C4 suspension parts and powdered coated in a Platinum silver. Added C5 Z51 rotors and calipers from Kore 3. Just a few more parts to coat and the chassis is complete.
Next steps are to Lizard skin the bottom of the body and mate to the frame 1 last time. Then final body and paint.

Just some plain old 2 1/2 inch 2 chamber Flowmasters. They are just behind the tips at the rear of the car so it gives it diff sound without the tailpipes.

Completed the rolling chassis, Stripped the entire Tub top and bottom, Filled all holes, Epoxy primed and 3 coats of Lizard skin, Eastwood ceramic black in the engine compartment, & Mounted and shimmed body back to frame for last time.
Dynamat should arrive today and interior will start going back in, Now just down to Finish body work and paint.
For those going to GG Atlanta or GG Nashville I will be working the kinks out in the Auto-X. Come see how much better the LS6 runs over the old LT1 from RTTH3.

It's the LS6 engine out of my RX7 project. Stock with the exception of a 228/230 cam and Katech rod bolts.
