68 camaro:
small block w/iroc powersteering box and 200cc protopline/rhs heads

Basically I need a header with as much ground, steering and spark plug clearance as possible and a 1 3/4 primary with a 3" collector.
I've searched the archives and haven't really found anyone with the same setup as me.

I've heard that the hookers fit nice but hang really low, how about the heddmens?

Any suggestions or experiences with a similar set up?

Thanks

The best fitting off the shelf headers I have read about is the Doug's D368 headers. Everybody seems to like how they fit and say they clear the steering gear and pitman arm great. The only thing is, is they are unequal length tubes which shouldn't make any real difference. I ordered a new set of headers from a guy today that should fit even better with equal length tubes. The down side is they cost about $150 more than the Doug's. Do a google search for Dougs d368 and I found some for about $50.00 less than summit! Print the page and call summit and they will match the price. I cannot tell you how the ones I bought will fit until they arrive latter this week.

thanks, I did a search on the d368's and they look like the perfect headers for my application.

Has anyone run these on pro topline/rhs heads???

Just my .02 worth...

Have you checked out Sandersons? That's what I went with. I wanted the largest diameter tubes I could find - they've got 1-7/8 tubes. You're so close to them. I've never seen better quality. Massive flanges that don't even need gaskets. I'm also running ProToplines...

ya, I've pretty much researched every brand and for the first gen camaros everyone seems to have good experiences with the dougs.

Thanks
