I would Avoid Using QA-1's all together. I would look into Varishock instead for quality pieces

What makes you say that?, you don't feel a shock company can make better shocks than a chassis company? just wondering?

They look like the same shock to me, just a different name. Also a few recent posts here have "those" other ones leaking?

I was just going on personal experience. Also from what i have learned from others on the site.

The QA-1 coilover shocks still utilize the top spring pocket of the sub frame. This pocket if you look at it is not perfectly perpendicular to the rest of the frame. This means thats the srping will create a side load on the shock. I have heard that quite a few people have to change leaking shocks in as many as 15k miles.

So while it was just my humble opinion I think it is better to spend a little more money to get a better coil set up. I just happen to use varishock but there are many others to choose from.

I have some on the front of my firebird with no problems.

I have the QA1's on mine as well. I can't speak to long term probs yet as I only have about 75 "running around miles" on the car, but I willsay they are very nice, and very adjustable. I hope they stay that way!

I am replacing my QA1 coilovers on my 69 chevelle they have about 500 miles on them they are starting to leak, and truthfully the car has like no suspension travel and the springs seem really weak. I am trying some varishocks as soon as they come in...

I too can't speak to the long term, but the few miles I put on my QA1 coilovers they were great shocks! Only reason I am selling mine now is because I am gong with a DSE front subframe, otherwise I would absolutely stay with QA1, but I would consider swapping to tubular a-arms... depends on what you are looking at getting out of your suspension.

I am looking for some gmp1 shocks if anyone has them. I already have springs.
