C4 Frame Going Rate?

Hey Guys,

I found a 1990 Corvette C4 Frame & Suspension not too far away from me, and the guy is asking $900. Does this seem like a good price? It has the front suspension, steering rack, 4 wheel discs & calipers and the rear end/suspension. I'm pretty sure it has a dana 36 in it. I like the idea of getting the whole frame so I can take measurments when I attempt to put the C4 Stuff in my 65 Riviera. The Riviera weighs 4,000 lbs now, but with the c4 components and a ls1/4l60E in place of the nailhead/th400 I think it should be in the 3,500 lb range. Should make for a nice daily driver.

Well, I picked up the frame today. The suspension bushings are junk, but on the good side the rear has the 3.07 rear gear and not the 2.56 rear gear. Does anybody have any links to good c4 suspension install websites or forum threads?

When you get ready to select the spring and rebuild the bushings, you can call the folks at Vette Brakes. They have different spring rates to help nail the front ride height and other trick parts to tweak that stuff as well as bushing kits. I've rebuilt a couple C4 suspensions on C4s, and found them to be very easy and fun to work with.

For rebuild there are just a few tricks to them but nothing serious. Get in touch with me if you run into issues. I build vettes for a living like Chris does. Either one of us can get you the parts you need and give you tips on installation procedures. Fear not the aluminum, just remember it's not steel.

Thanks guys, will do. I think i'm going to end up purchsing a poly kit to replace all the bushings. From what I read on the corvette forums, those guys really like poly in this suspension. As far as springs go, I plan on running some Koni Coilovers. I work for ITT which owns Koni, so I get a pretty nice discount. I've been in contact with the gentlemen from MrQuick's link and have learned a lot already.
