Okay, a quick history:
We moved last year from southern WV back to the eastern panhandle (we were down there 2 years for my wife's job). We've had our house for sale with bites but with the slow market, no one as of yet has pulled the trigger. Well, two weeks ago, our realtor called us about a busted pipe and water damage at the house in Beckley. I go down the next day (we were out of town) and find the pipe busted and the place a mess. Some how the heat was turned off, not sure if it was from a walkthru or not (maybe kids messing with thermostat switches?). Plus, insurance won't cover it either. But anyway, I have friends with connections there, and they are getting it fixed back up, so it should be back new again in another week or two.
Now for the great news. We moved back up here last year for my wife's job. She's the Director of Pharmacy at a big hospital, 76 emplyees in the pharmacy. Though she likes it there, she wasn't completely happy like she was at the first two hospitals. So, the original hospital she was at for 4 years when she got out of school (as Director of Pharmacy with 5 employees in the pharmacy) had a position open which she applied for...well, it was offered to her yesterday evening, and she is accepting it this morning...VP of Administration! I'm so happy for her. She has her PharmD (Doctorate in Pharmacy), has 4 more classes for her MHA (Master in Healthcare Admn., and 8 more classes left for her MBA (Master in Business Admn.). She was well respected at that hospital when she was there, and they all wanted her for the positition.
It's a small hospital, but it's also 10 minutes away, in the same town we live in, and know almost everyone that works there, even my sister is a nurse there. Now I'll get to go to every hospital function as the VP's date. It also is ironic that during her 2 day interview, the President and some medical staff took us both out to dinner, the President and I talked about cars almost the whole time. It turns out he's a Corvette guy, had a '65 396 Vette show car for a long time, then sold it and now has an '06 Vette. That had to help a little bit too, right?https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/09/crazy-1.gif
Sorry for the long winded post, just still filled with excitemant and emotion. BTW, did I mention my wife is only 33 yrs old? Yeah, she's a keeper.https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2008/01/wink-1.gif
