wow thanks a ton for that!

also anther question. i am running a 17x9.5 ZR1 wheel with that same 275/40/17 tire. i think the offset is 35 mm. i am not possitive but it is the normal ZR1 wheel. i have to buy spacers, idk what size i need for this car. i want the tire right at the lip. on my thirdgen they use 2" but idk if it is the same on the 67.

well sorry(stu) im not looking to buy wheels here as i know what i am wanting although they look nice - im just trying to see WHO HAS 17X9.5 ON THE FRONT OF A 69 and what mods were required to fit them ie: tubular control arms steering stop mods(too late to notch frame as its welded to subframe and powdercoated allready thanks Mo - good thread tho!) what wheel offset ect. this is not about a 67 (88iroc)as theyre wheelwells are different shaped you may look here: http://www.geocities.com/casanoc/ Its pertaining TO 69 ONLY so please lets stay on the topic of this thread . sorry seems like alot of party crashers here :hammer:-Project 69: what size wheels ? and did you have to remove fenderwells for clearance? what offset are you using? and did you try 275/40/17 at all? thanks for all that posted and sorry if im a little irritable , its that time of mo.
anyone else? ive been looking at the wheel fitment chart(for years now)that was supposed to be updated(when? never?) soon and it was little help and seems to be ignored now even though steamroller sized tires area requirement for the Pro-tour crowd, i know 16x8 fit easy so id think the 9.5 would work with the right parts? seems like only a/m subframes are doing it? got to be some experience out here.... Buehler? Buehler?

My front wheels are 17x9.5 +55 offset, 2" adapters.

I removed the inner fender wells because the drop was putting the tires into the well, i couldnt turn the wheel lol (almost 3-1/4" drop)

No i havent tried a 275 but i know it wont fit because its already tight as it sits now, but with a 2" drop it might work with perfect backspacing.

With tubular upper and lower arms, you can fit 275s up front im sure. Im running stock arms so im stuck with 255, but i dont mind thats enough tire up front for me.

I have tubular uppers , not lowers - may happen later with coil overs though, any idea what your B/S ends up with the spacers and the metrics? - anyone else have Fattys up front? pics?

CarlC has them on the front of his car, looks like Speedtech upper arms and a short steering arm but read through it yourself for other details.

Jagarang - with that B/S how much outer room do you have? extra .5" ? i think with 5.5" i might make it with my arms /stock subframe , Indyjps I have seen the article on Carls 68 (and its sweet)but their fenders are little different than a 69 is. I appreciate the input guys! more?

Well Im planning on running a 9.5 on the front of my 69 camaro so we need to figure this out. I thought the 69's had more tire clearance?
Ive got the speedtech uppers, the 2 shortest moog steering arms, drum hubs machined (orig drum car) all the c5 front brakes.
Is there a difference in how a drum or disc spindle orients the wheel in the opening?

no the spindles are the same except the upper mounting boss is machined deeper? on the disc setup - hope that makes sense but the rest is identical , ill be using ATS spindles and C5 brakes also so yes we are in tha same boat , ive has 16x8 and 255/50/16 on front before (like 4.5" B/S)of the wheels but it fit easy with no rub so how much worse can 1.5" wheel and 2cm of tire width be ? :bananna2:
here is my old 69 with that 16x8 on Power Tour in 01?

Not the spindle but the drum hub can make a difference. There are a few different hubs out there that can be used. I have a drum set off of my camaro and a set of hubs from a factory 2 piece disc brake setup. There is about a 1/4" difference in the hub surface mounting location.

Here is an example from David Pozzi's sitehttps://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/04/camaro_disc_drum_hubs-1.jpg
