View Full Version : Schwartz full frame for second gen Camaro

It's now available. No cutting of the floor is required and the stock gas tank will work. A 345 rear tire will fit with a mini-tub and 275 are no problem in the front. Coilovers at 4 corners or Air Ride shockwaves.
Initial data shows we took about 145# off the front and re-distributed 60# to the rear. The total weight loss is greater than 85# as we ditch the heavy rear leaf springs. Of course we wont know exact distribution percentages until our 81 Turbo Trans Am project is further along.
Weight of the assembled stock GM front subframe is 427# with brakes, ps box, sway bar. The Schwartz Second gen Camaro Firebird full frame, with 14" front brakes, all front suspension, power steering rack, both front and rear sway bars, crossmember, shocks, springs is 342#.
We've ramped up production capabilities and at the present time can ship any chassis including our A- Body chassis in 2 weeks from order date.

How's exhaust clearence with the full frame. I know It sucks now. Any pricing info yet.

I sure would like to see a pic with the body on! I can't picture in my mind how it works without channeling the floor for it

Fits like stock with SFC's installed to the rear leaf spring pockets. no floor cutting required. We should have body on pictures soon.
