I don't know if this belongs in this part of the forum or not but I need some advice on what the best air intake to use is. Right now I have the normal enclosed circular box with a snorkel and flexible hose for cold air. I see some people have the same thing with open element so I guess it's less restrictive but sucks in hot air so which is better? I've also seen the ones that are tubes that lead to a conical filter. Would that be the best?

colder air is always better period. A dual snorkel setup with air being grabbed from in fron of the radiator or near the headlights is the best youll get. Restiction is based on the size of the snorkels. Another opition is this https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

Granted the holes kinda defeat the purpose but the main idea is that grabbing air from the cowl is good cause it is a high pressure area. Too bad it requires cutting up the firewall. But as said regardless of how you do it always go for the cold air option if possible.

i love the dual snorkel setups and while you're at it, run that convoluted pipe to the brakes too. I use this stuff: http://www.allstarperformance.com/product.htm?prod=592
