I have a Muscle Drive from Twist Machine. 3000 stall with a 4l80e, and it works very well. I would reccomend giving Steve a call .

I'll be glad to quote torque converter specs/prices for you guys. Give me a call since every unit is built to spec.

I'm a Pro Torque dealer. Yup they make TC's for TH350's. The TH350 converters run $500 or less. Post vehicle specs in detail and I'll respond with vehicle specs and details. How you will use the car is very important as well.

the car is a 1969 Camaro with 3.08 rear gears
the engine is gonna be a 383, 10.1 c/r, Edelbrock Performer RPM Camshaft & Lifters .488/.510 - 234/244 camshaft, aluminum heads, single plane manifold, 750cfm holley carb, i might throw the nitrous on this engine.
Im gonna be driving the car daily

Single plane manifolds and 3.08's dont work to well together...I would swap it out for an RPM air gap. The 234/244 cam is going to need at least a 2500 stall for it to be happy.

I believe that a GM factory "D5" coded torque converter that came factory installed in a "BRF" coded 2004R used in all turbo 86-87 GN's is a 2400 stall speed converter. Perfect for those on a budget if you can find a good used one.

I dont care much for low-end power/torque.

Six Nine,
I can't build a converter for this combination. You won't be happy.

Call neal chance converters. I have one in my car. They built it to my specs and its the best. It was like 400 with shipping and I got it in less than a week . Here's their site. http://www.racingconverters.com/ I can cruise at 2800 but it will flash to 3500 if I deck it. Drives like a normal car just cruising.

Now you're talkin'! What else? What about rear tire diameter? Don't just think in terms of low end torque. Visualize your converter with regards to coupling efficiency as it relates to slippage below stall speed. You don't want your converter to slip during 80% of your driving.
If Vigilante is your favored brand, just be sure to emphasize that the car is a true daily driver. They'll take good care of you. Just emphasize that you care about more than just WOT peak torque to max rpm.
My price for your converter is $497. And I'll try to steer you somewhere at or south of 2800rpm depending on tire diameter.

Yup, those are killer. We have one that has been "worked" a bit by a GN guy around here. It stalls about 2800 now and is perfect in Michael's Monte Carlo.
It was cheap, Think we paid $250 for it? It did a good job, but were "fixing" that Monte Carlo this weekend and it will be a TKO 600 now.

I'll second the Continental Convertors, great working street strip convertor, and great customer service. Personally used one in a 69 GTO w/ 468 and was very happy.

Yes, I am thinking Continental too. All the Pontiac specific guys seem to rave about them. I still a bit stumped on my combo for a torque converter. 248/254 at .50 with .619/638 lift with a 1.65 rocker. 428 pontiac in a 1967 A-body.
Still have not decided on the rear gears though. Initially I was thinking of a Hughes 2500.

I can second the recommendation on Neal Chance. Those guys make a killer piece.

I think the reason nobody has heard of him is that they do mainly high end race car stuff
