I hope he spent a little time with someone to work out the geometry on the suspension. He said he wasnt an engineer and with the speeds that thing is capable of it could be a disaster...

Beyond that I have to say holy cow that is cool.

That man has got SKILLS!!!!!!! I hope he got it titled before the new NC titling/registration laws that came in Jan 1. I have been toying with the idea of building something like that but Hayabusa powered.

Awesome read.

I checked out the full thread and he got it titled and put over 5K miles in 5 weeks on it. Bad news is it looks like he spun off the road in it and did some damage. I didn't register so I couldn't check out the pics of the damage.

Yeah, but unlike Jeff Spicolli, he does have the tools and the skills to use them.

cool build...but why was it civic powered? i mean seriously, an lsx block would not have been that heavy, and you could have gotten soo much more power out of it...the civic power kills it for me

He explains that in the post. He claims to know nothing about mechanics and isn't comfortable doing more than polishing the valve cover. I think he also got the engine super cheap. Look how expensive it is to put an ls motor into a camaro. I imagine mounting one in a transaxle would be even more expensive.

Yea pretty much. I didnt read it but looks like he took the whole cradle and mounted it in the back.

i understand that he does not under stand anything about engines, but I would think you would want to do some serious research and find out so that you really have the ultimate machine...but thats just my opinion

A V-8 would have added a lot of length, weight and $$$ to the car.

no wonder he spun out and crashed, that suspension geometry is wacked, both front and rear. I like the work he did but he should have paid more attention to the suspension geometry, even if it meant bringing in someone from the outside to help. That thing is a death trap the way it is.
